server apps commodified: digital autonomy for the masses
While nixpkgs has made lots of software reproducible, most users of devices experience technical barriers in switching to open-source software still.
In this talk, Fediversity developer @kiara explains the shortcomings of the GDPR's right to data portability, and how we can do better while bringing Nix to the masses.
It will further touch on:
- how Nix services can facilitate micro-service architectures
- how we can use GUIs to configure Nix modules
- using Nix to make portable infrastructure
